the Office of Louisiana Lt. Governor Scott A. Angelle and Operation Blessing International
in our fundraising efforts by participating in the Fisheries Fun Run/Walk.
Operation
Blessing International (OBI) is working in partnership with the LSU
AgCenter/Louisiana Sea Grant Program and the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and
Marketing Board (LSPMB) to help Louisiana crab fishermen and their families
affected by the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
100% of all
funds donated to the Fisheries Fun Run/Walk will go directly to a project to
help purchase specially designed crab shedding systems for crab fisherman.
These systems, which cost approximately $2,000 each, are being manufactured in
Westwego, Louisiana, thus helping our local economy even further. Each system
donated is expected to increase a family’s income by approximately $14,000
annually.
